TEDxINTISUBANG | XTRAORDINARY
In conjunction with the 30th INTI Anniversary, INTI International College Subang organised an event called TEDxINTISubang and in the year 2016, the theme will be 'Xtraordinary'.
TED- Technology, Entertainment, and Design is a platform where a line of speakers would share ideas that are worth spreading. The theme 'Xtraordinary' was set under the belief that every individual has the capacity of being so. Right down to every single DNA which builds all living organisms, it has always been within us - to shape the ever-progressive fabric of society.
Using a similar design process, a new attempt was made to place the word 'xtraordinary' in the illustrated nucleotide.
Further developments lead to a better arrangement, proportion, and legibility. The first half of the 'X' is hatched to simulate a serif typeface, while taking inspiration from the shape of a graduated measuring cylinder.
The choice of the font for the logo and for most part of the titles remains the same due to the nature of the characters that is similar to the bars of genetic sequencing. They are extremely condensed and generously spaced in their tracking.
The final logos have the bridges removed to look more like an 'X' instead of a 'Z'.
The body content of the illustration are used to interact with the background.
In order to bring balance to the generous allocation of space, most of the illustrations are placed below while maintaining the essence of the background which highly prioritize emptiness.
The balanced composition of the image is complemented but the centralized arrangement of the body content.
Following the direction of the fold of the abstract fabric, the logo at the side was brought closer to the audience while the details of the content was brought backwards.
To achieve consistency of the theme design, image was also used as a background in the collaboration poster with TEDxKL.
The expansive space allow this illustration to be used as either a profile picture or cover photo.
GRAD SHOW : BEYOND THE GRIDS
As a student pursuing his final year studies, I was among the few to be given the task to prepare graphical solutions and a theme to the Graduation Show. This would make the project to be categorized under branding. The project took several attempts to have its concept finalized as every tutorial session leads to a demand for a theme change.
Instead of being blatantly ambiguous with the dispersed grids, a better representation were planned. It involves and begins with us, as humans. A 3D model was used and assigned material for the representation.
Being grey and silver, the previous material obviously doesn't reflect light well, which in turn, less of its colour can be seen. Using the same colour code assigned in the gradient's cyan, a new colour is used.
The idea is to make the dispersed grids to be hatched into a human head, which represents us as a designer. However, visibility is still a huge issue despite the saturated placement of ambient lights.
After the new material selection, the difference is apparent. The visibility of the subject matter was explicit in relation to its background.
With such a high functioning illustration, it is chosen to be the new background instead.
This is a frame saved from the hatching, showing the higher degree of contrast with just s simple material and colour reassignment.
The same material is displayed very well in white backgrounds too.
40TH INTIMA : THE BEST OF
As a Public Relations Officer of INTI International College Subang's Student Government, which is called INTIMA, I was constantly tasked to provide a graphical solution for either event, seasonal greetings, or public service announcement. This section compiles the best designs through the tenure of the 40th term, in the year 2016.
In order to maximize the on-screen time of these designs on social media, portrait orientations were frequently selected. It also promotes the ease of printing by choosing international paper sizes or A3 dimensions.
GAME ON, FEAR OFF 3.0
Game On, Fear Off (GOFO) is an open sports competition held annually for INTI International College Subang students, which include basketball, dodgeball, futsall, captain ball, badminton, table tennis, and pool.
Winners get to win a cash prize up to RM 250 and stand a chance to be selected for MAPCU Tournaments.
ALIENWARE PACKAGING DESIGN
The idea of 'respawning' the project is to improve the presentation of the outcome of an old issue that is still strongly relevant up to this day. With upgraded creative skills and judgment gained through the years, the respawn is more of a redemption of the past.

In essence, the package design was meant to better portray the values that the company had; innovative and extraterrestrial in nature. Also, the package would not simply occupy space and remain pointless after the unboxing.
Each corner and movement is meticulously planned to ensure a precise fitting of all the parts which coexist harmoniously as a piece of art. All these considerations were done without sacrificing the motive of the original product's design language while maintaining its optimal integrity to be used as a furniture.
A visually sophisticated presentation gives the owner the pride of an unprecedented unboxing experience with the pseudo levitating models securely held to the case by a hidden frame.
A body built to last, a form built to function. These are the core vices of the project in order to give it a single life with multiple forms. It can be converted into either a package, shelf, mini table or a bench. Whichever form it takes, it performs with class.
While maintaining the design language in conjunction with both the original product and the package design, the display shelf speaks for its own dominance. With a menacing yet minimal angular design, its form communicates directly with the spaceships it holds.
