RESPAWNING A LEGACY

The idea of 'respawning' the project is to improve the presentation of the outcome of an old issue that is still strongly relevant up to this day. With upgraded creative skills and judgment gained through the years, the respawn is more of a redemption of the past.
TRANSCENDENCE
In essence, the package design was meant to better portray the values that the company had; innovative and extraterrestrial in nature. Also, the package would not simply occupy space and remain pointless after the unboxing.
A REFLECTION OF STYLE

Each corner and movement is meticulously planned to ensure a precise fitting of all the parts which coexist harmoniously as a piece of art. All these considerations were done without sacrificing the motive of the original product's design language while maintaining its optimal integrity to be used as a furniture.
AN EXTRATERRESTRIAL EXPERIENCE
A visually sophisticated presentation gives the
owner the pride of an unprecedented unboxing
experience with the pseudo levitating models
securely held to the case by a hidden frame.
ONE LIFE, MULTIPLE FORMS
A body built to last, a form built to function. These are the core voyages of the project in order to give it a single life with multiple forms. It can be converted into either a package, shelf, mini table or a bench. Whichever form it takes, it performs with class.

THE MOTHERSHIP

While maintaining the design language in conjunction with both the original product and the package design, the display shelf speaks for its own dominance. With a menacing yet minimal angular design,
its form communicates directly with the spaceships it holds.

ALIENWARE PACKAGING DESIGN
The thought of redesigning the package of the Alienware gaming laptops came by to overcome it's current lists of packaging flaws, with added values and features. The current line of the packaging was designed to be minimal but it falls behind in portraying the values that the company had which are to be innovative and extraterrestrial in nature. Also, the package simply occupies space and remain useless after the unboxing.
To overcome these flaws while comprehending the product's shortcoming, a second life was given to the package, which is to make it a convertible table. The high temperature that ejects from the vent is simply unbearable when placed on the lap to be used. The new packaging will solve this problem while visually communicating the idea of a sophisticated technology used in displaying the 'levitating' laptops, signifying a transcendent product of technological feat.
The complete set of the final outcome without the Point of Purchase Display which includes an informative print regarding the motive of the packaging design.
The only fully functional packaging of all, which includes the real product within.
A mock packaging which was used to replicate the final design.
The entire display set which includes point of purchase and the packages displayed in relative to their dedicated spaces
A sub-packaging which contains the charger of the laptop and its manuals.
The description on the motive of the final design.
The initial idea involves the use of origami and suspension blocks as one of the few packaging methods.
Further development leads to more practical ideas, such as using the cover as the feet of the mini-desk. The development also includes variation of possible hinges which can be implemented.
Layout of the construct and the exploded view of various pieces are thoroughly planned for the final outcome.
The planning of the dimensions for point of purchase.
Vectors of the pieces are drawn and transferred as readable files to the laser cutting machine for high consistency and accuracy.
Pieces are now completed and ready to be assembled.

Mock ups are then printed and built.
